Bayleigh found her love for dance at the young age of two and has since been apart of the DanceMakers family. Bayleigh danced for 16years in many styles of dance including ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, hip hop and acro. Bayleigh competed in both dance and gymnastics and has many accomplishments as an athlete including becoming a Provincial, National and World Champion in gymnastics and/or dance. Bayleigh has travelled and competed for Team Canada in the sport of rowing where she later qualified and competed at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games. Since returning from the Games, Bayleigh has began competing in the sport of CrossFit as an adaptive athlete. In 2023, Bayleigh qualified and competed at the CrossFit Games where she won her category and became the “Fittest on Earth” in the women’s lower extremity division.
Returning to DanceMakers as senior teacher and choreographer, Bayleigh’s dance philosophy circles around one’s commitment to challenge themselves. Identifying that everyone has their own strengths and weaknesses but that the attitude of the dancer and their ambition is what separates them apart from one another despite their level of talent. Growth looks very different person to person and can take time, but seeing that confidence bloom in the studio is what excites Bayleigh as a teacher.
As a previous gymnastics coach and gymnast herself, acro continues to be a passion for Bayleigh because of the discipline and team work the program requires. She has a heart for jazz and its energy and entertaining stage presence it showcases. On top of everything though, Bayleigh is passionate about work ethic and the growth of an individual through dance inside and out of the studio. Bayleigh hopes to share her love for dance and continue to inspire the next generation!
